These 8 days Rwanda Primates and Cultural safari brings you to a country of a thousand hills, this is exhibited by its flourishing rolling hills which offer a spectacular view. We start with the Kigali city tour where a lot will be at our disposal like a tour to the Kigali genocide memorial, Belgian massacre camp, and have a chance to observe and learn more about the political history of the country. The country if rich with historical sites ranging from 400 years ago during the kingdom era, colonial and post-colonial times, and also at the start of the modern era that was characterized by unfortunate events of Rwanda genocide. This adventure tour also features primates’ experience in Nyungwe and volcanoes national parks. Rwanda has a lot to offer when it comes to the cultural experience we shall continue to the Butare royal palace for more cultural adventure before we proceed to Nyungwe forest national park for the amazing experience with chimpanzee trekking and the breathtaking canopy walk alongside community walks. INTINERARY DESCRIPTION

DAY1

  • ARRIVAL IN RWANDA AND TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL

You will arrival at Kigali international airport, meet and greet with our company representative and be transferred to your booked hotel for diner and overnight.

DAY2

  • KIGALI CITY TOUR DAY

 After breakfast at your hotel, Start your day with a historical exploration of Kigali city with visits to official landmarks and places from colonial, post-independence, genocide, and post-genocide times to have the most educative and incredible historical facts about Rwanda. You will be able to visit Kigali Genocide memorial site where over 250,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves, visit the Belgian camp where they killed the 10 Belgian UN soldiers who were protecting the moderate prime minister before the start of the genocide, explore old and new Kigali and in the evening return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

 DAY3

  • TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK

In the morning after breakfast, you will head to Muhanga to join the locals at their hillside, to participate in their daily life activities as artists, you will be able to learn how they make the local basket weaving, , Candle Dipping, and bee hive making. Enjoy a day full of interactions, fun, feasting, and wonderful experiences. After we head to Butare and visit the Royal Kings Palace in Nyanza en route to Butare where you will have an insight about the past leadership of Rwandan kings, their traditions and cultures and after proceed to Nyungwe NP where you will spend your overnight.

DAY4

  • CHIMPANZEE TREKKING

After enjoying a pure Rwandan breakfast, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before visiting the Gisakura tea plantation where you interact with the farmers on how tea is grown and harvested, you can also participate in the process of harvesting and then later visit the processing factory to see the other final stages until your tea is served in a cup. In the evening get back to hotel for dinner.

DAY5

  • CANOPY WALK

  • TRANSFER TO KIBUYE FOR BOAT RIDE AND NIGHT FISHING.

 

Today after breakfast, you will return to the forest to hike the canopy walk within the forest of Nyungwe. This suspended bridge will reward with a great view of this impenetrable natural forest. You will drive to kibuye through the magnificent view of the thousand hills on the shores of Lake Kivu. Arrive at your hotel you will have a relaxed lunch by waiting for the afternoon boat on Lake Kivu to visit different islands within the lake that will end with enjoying the night fishermen experience.

DAY6

  • TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

In the morning after breakfast, you will have a transfer to Rubavu with an en-route visit to Kinunu Coffee plantation and experience the process from seeds to cup of coffee, later after lunch proceeds toyour booked lodge for diner and overnight.

DAY7

  • GORILLA OR GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING

  • Afternoon Canoe Ride in the Twin Lakes

In the morning after breakfast, you will head in the park for Gorilla trekking or Golden monkey trekking volcanoes and in the afternoon drive to enjoy the canoe ride in the twin lakes of Burela and Ruhondo, later back to your hotel for diner and overnight.

DAY8

  • KIGALI CITY TOUR AND AIRPORT DEPARTURE

In the morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for departure. If your flight is in the afternoon time, we will have a walk with the Nyamirambo women’s center to experience the real-life of Rwandans.and we come to the end of our 8 days Rwanda Primates and  Cultural safari.
