2 Days Lake Mburo National Park Safari

Lake Mburo national park is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks that covers only 370km² yet it has 5 lakes within. Lake Mburo National Park is located in western Uganda in Nyabushozi County, Kiruhura District and about 4 hours’ drive from Uganda capital city Kampala and offers great opportunities to visitors. Lake Mburo National Park is well known for hosting the largest African bovid (Eland), but yet the slowest antelope. It can only run about 40 kph. Lake Mburo National Park also has a vast population of wildlife ranging from zebras, buffalos, oribis, water backs, leopards, hyenas, deffasa, hippo, reed back…..

Lake Mburo National Park is surrounded by communities and its between two major cities of Uganda Masaka city and Mbarara city. This small Mburo national park has got five water bodies within and among is the famous Lake Mburo where it derives its name and this means boat cruise as an activities can be done in this park and is a vast oppuntiny to waterbirds, crocodiles, hills of hippos backs in water, while cruising in swamps you meet marshbuck (Sitatunga antelop).

For bird lovers lake Mburo National park is a far near area where you meet over 45 birds species including forest experts like red-faced barbet, blue-headed couca, Blue Breasted Kingfisher, Harrier hawk, Double-toothed barbet, , Green pigeon and species like the great shoebill, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Saddle-billed Stork, Brown-chested Lapwing….

In the morning hours ready, meet your safari guide for a briefing about this 2 days adventure for Lake Mburo National Park safari. Our first stop will be at the equator line to pose for photos and have the Equator line water experience and after continue driving through Masaka city and straight to the Whispers of the Wild Lake Mburo National Park for an afternoon check-in and have lunch at the lodge. Later in the late afternoon go for a game-drive in the zebra magnet for Hippo,Buffalo, Oribi, water back, Leopard, Zebras, Elands and the breeze of the savannah vegetation with acacia.

DAY 2:

On this good day, wake early morning for a safari walk around the park with a chance of walking with zebras, cattle grazing with the wild animals, waterbucks, antelope, buffaloes and this is a special experience as you move on foot with sounds of birds energizing you . After 2-3 hours walk, go back to the lodge for breakfast and get prepared to leave the lodge for a prehistoric looking bird the Great shoebill towards Kampala in Mabamba swamp with many other water birds. After a chanceful spotting of this whale bill, you’re taken back to the airport or any other location and we have reached the end of our 2 days Lake Mburo National Park safari.
