4 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park (Qenp) Itinerary

Summary

Close to 100 species of mammals and about 600 types of birds dwell within this park and among them are the: large herds of hippos, large forest hogs and the good-looking Uganda. Besides the vast wildlife of Queen Elizabeth National park, the safari also takes you for a guided chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura and also have you participate in an unforgettable boat ride experience along the famous Kazinga Channel with a game safari for unique wildlife encounters.

 Here’s a 4-day itinerary to make the most of your visit whilst at QENP:

INTINERARY DESCRIPTION

Day 1:

  • TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

  • EVENING GAME DRIVE

On arrival from Entebbe International airport, you meet our company representative for a brief meeting about this adventure 4 days Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, from Kampala, you will have a stop over at the famous Equator where you will have time to take pictures, have a light meal or snacks and explore the Crafts that intimate the Ugandan Culture. Igongo Cultural center will be the second stop over which will interest you with a variety of sculptures (both animal and Human), visit the museum among others.You will continue with the journey via Mbarara and Bushenyi where you will witness the beautiful Tea plantations along the roads before arriving at QENP. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, bushbucks, warthogs, hyenas, bushpigs and various bird species inclusive of the Papyrus gonolek, white backed night heron, yellow throated cuckoo, red chested sunbird and many others. Enjoy the beautiful sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 2:

  • CHIMPANZEE TRACKING KYAMBURA GORGE

  • BOAT CRUISE KAZINGA CHANNEL

 

Wakeup to a pure Ugandan cup of tea or coffee, drive to the Kyambura Gorge for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. Explore the gorge with experienced guides and have the opportunity to observe these incredible primates in their natural habitat.Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, drive to yet another incredible adventure on the Kazinga channel. This waterway is home to one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa and offers an abundance of birdlife. Keep an eye out for elephants, crocodiles, and other wildlife that come to the channel to drink and bathe.

Day 3:

  • TRANSFER TO ISHASHA SECTOR

  • GAME DRIVES

 

After breakfast, drive to the Ishasha Sector located in the southern part of QENP, known for its famous tree-climbing lions. Explore the region during a game drive and have the opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures lounging on ancient fig trees staring down the open savannah plains where there are vast herds of the Uganda Kobs, Topis buffaloes and other grazers.Enjoy lunch at Topi Lodge amidst the wilderness. In the afternoon, you can opt for a cultural encounter with the local communities, or evening game drive.

Day 4:

  • LAKE KATWE TOUR

  • TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA.

 

You will wake up to a delicious breakfast, check out of the lodge and thereafter indulge in  an optional tour of Lake Katwe, a salt lake formed by volcanic eruption. You are to witness the locals mining salt rocks with no advanced technology from the lake to the landing area for sale. If time allows, you will visit Lake Munyanyange about 2 kms away from Lake Katwe, another celebrated area for a wide range of bird species including Flamingoes, pied avocet, black winged stilt, seagulls, black terns among many more. After transfer to Kampala/Entebbe airport for a flight back home.

 

Please note that wildlife sightings are unpredictable, but Queen Elizabeth National Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, so you’re likely to encounter a variety of animals and breathtaking landscapes throughout your journey.
